Keeping with last week's theme of foreign actresses, this week I am featuring Swedish actress Anita Ekberg.
-Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg was born in 1931
-In 1950 she competed in the Miss Sweden contest and won, she was entered in the Miss Universe contest ending up in 6th place, winning a starlet contract at Universal Studios
-It is there where Anita met Howard Hughes
-She became a major pin-up in the 1950s' and was always participating in publicity stunts
-She posed for "Playboy"
-She was in films: "Abbott and Costello Go to Mars" (1953), "Artists and Models" (1955), "Blood Alley" (1955), "Hollywood or Bust" (1956), "War and Peace" (1956), "La Dolce Vita" (1960)
-Her performance in "Blood Alley" won her a Golden Globe
-Her greatest role was in Fellini's "La Dolce Vita" in which she played the dream woman opposite Marcello Mastroinni ,the film also featured Sophia Loren
-She worked with Fellini in two other films; "I clowns" (1972) and "Intervista" (1987)
-She was married twice but also romantically linked to Tyrone Power, Marcello Mastroinni, Frank Sinatra, Gary Cooper and Errol Flynn
-She currently resides in Rome where she is hospitalized, she has been living in Italy for many years
